Honorable juries ladies and gentlemen sisters and
brothers
First of all lets praise to the almighty Allah SWT
because of his blessing we are able to attend this english speech contest.
Secondly may peace be upon the prophet Muhammad SAW who has guided us from the
darkness into the brighness. I would also like to say many thanks to the juries
and master of ceremony who have given me chance to deliver an english speech in
front of you all.
Here, I would like to talk about “the decreasing
nationalism in young generation”
Ladies and gentlemen
Nationalism. What is the meaning of nationalism?
Nationalism come from 2 syllable that is national which is mean nationality and ism
which is mean education. So the meaning of nationalism is education about
nationality. Than the broader meanings of nationalism are :
1.
Love to the fatherland. And
someone who love their fatherland will always sacrifice for their fatherland,
their nation, and their country.
2.
Self realization as a resident of
a country. So that they will majoring their fatherland, their nation, and their
country.
Ladies and gentlemen
If we conclude that natonalism is a love to the Fatherland so it relate with our country Indonesia. We must
proud cause we live in a country which is really rich, has fertile land,
strategic, we know from sabang till merauke the are many land in a row. Binneka
tunggal Ika is a sign that make a whole many kind of cultural and tribe. If we
proud it will appear ‘love’ to the fatherland. And then the question is, have
we loved our country?
Ladies and gentlemen
Nowadays Indonesia facing many
problems such as : there are many corruption cases, unemployment, oppression to
the Indonesia labour or woman labour, and the most scary is the decreasing of
nationalism. Especially in students circles. On Longer time, many students come
far from the citizent’s wishes and identity. There are also many problems
happen to the students In Indonesia such as : moral transition, attitudes,
decreasing spirit to study, fight of students, etc.
Ladies and gentlemen
There are causes of decreasing
nationalism of young generation. For example western life style, favorite music
group concert. So when there was a students who bring topic about nationalism
many people will say that ‘nationalism’ is an old topic. then other cause is
when there was a students who should think about their family’s life, because
of economy pressure. And the most scary when history lesson, Pancasila and
citizents lesson became a lesson which is not too important compared National
exam lesson. From this fact, please you imagine How nationalism can be formed?
Ladies and gentlemen
Now, the question is how to grow
nationalism to the young generation?
I think as easy as pie. We start from
a little actions.
1.
We join flag ceremony
every Monday. Because of it, we can feel the warriors struggle with Indonesia
Raya song.
2.
We wear Indonesia product
such as batik
3.
Join to take care of
public facilities
4.
Save and practice our
culture through art especially traditional art.
Ladies and gentlemen
I think thats all my speech. Hopefully
it will be usefull for all of us. Remember! If we are not loving our fatherland
then whom again? So ...
